Rev. Johnny Ray Noble, Ph.D.

 

Reverend Johnny Ray Noble, Ph.D. is the proud pastor of the Second Nazareth Baptist Church (Columbia, SC).

 

Academically, Dr. Noble has earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Wayland Baptist University, Masters of Arts in Theology (M. Th), and a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling Psychology (M.A.C.C.) from Cornerstone University in Lake Charles, LA. He possesses a Doctor of Arts in Theology (Th.D) and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Christian Counseling Psychology (Ph.D) from Cornerstone University. Pastor Noble also serves as registrar and professor of Clinical Christian Counseling Psychology and Theology at Cornerstone University. He serves as a Professor of Religion at Allen University as well as a Counselor.

 

Professionally, Dr. Noble is also a Licensed Pastoral Counselor (advanced certification) with the National Christian Counselors Association (N.C.A.A., Sarasota, FL) and a Clinical Supervisor. He is also a Commissioned Clinical Pastoral Counselor with the Inter-Faith Baptist Convention (Pasadena, TX).

 

Dr. Noble has been involved in ministries throughout the nation. He is a champion and advocate of youth causes and is the president and founder of Chosen Generation Ministries, an organization devoted to, “preparing our youth to face the challenges of a changing world.” He was active in the New Light Missionary Baptist and Educational District Association (Rev. Robert Owens, Lake Charles, LA, Moderator) as a member of the Executive Board, Youth Minister, and Special Assistant to the Moderator. He is a former member of the Louisiana Home and Foreign Mission Baptist State Convention, Inc. (Dr. Samuel Tolbert, Lake Charles, LA, President). He has served as Dean of the Elm Grove District Association (Rev. A.E. Cleaver, Fort Worth, TX, Moderator) and has served on the Baptist Training Union Board of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas (Dr. G.V. Clark, Austin, TX, President) and is a member of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc., Intl. (Dr. Stephen J. Thurston, Chicago, IL, President). Pastor Noble currently serves as the secretary of the Pastoral Board (National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. Intl.).

 

He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc and also serves on various boards, commissions, and committees of the City of Columbia and Richland County. An avid proponent of education he also shares his gifts with several committees at the school.
